Skateboard Contest

That’s a wrap on our 2024 Choose Your Story gatherings! A huge thank you to FCA for sponsoring this month's event at the Blake Doyle Skatepark. The boys who participated had an absolute blast. We’re excited to continue these gatherings in 2025!

Choose Your Story is an initiative designed to foster positivity, optimism, and resilience, aiming to guide teens toward a brighter and healthier future.

Go Carts and Laser Tag

Life isn’t easy. In fact, sometimes it’s incredibly hard and unfair. Because of this, we HAVE to provide space for our youth to laugh, to smile, and to have a GOOD TIME! Thank you Splash City Adventures for being our safe space this month.

beach clean up and Glow Paddle

This month we made a difference AND had fun at our Beach Clean-Up and Glow Paddling gathering!

We spent the evening restoring our beautiful beaches and then we started our paddle at the start of a peaceful sunset and finished under the stars.

HUGE shout out and appreciation for our friends at Glow Paddle for sponsoring this months teen night!

THE MAGIC OF THEATER

Four reasons why you should CHOOSE theatre:

  • Theatre empowers us to embrace truth, take risks, and advocate for new and diverse voices.
  • Theatre reminds us that we are not alone.
  • Theatre is immediate, evolving, and always different.
  • Live theatre promotes social discourse, dialogue, and potential social change.

Pinspiration

“Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.”

Our Choose Your Story gathering this month gave 10 teens between the age of 13-19 the opportunity to express themselves through art.

5 benefits of art…
• relieves stress and anxiety
• boost self-esteem and confidence
• uplifts mood
• provokes self awareness
• supports mental health

Through art you have the freedom to be who you want to be!

Lunch on the Farm

Our Choose Your Story gathering shifted gears after the sudden death of a friend to many of our volunteers. Since this initiative is focused on guiding teens in a way that emphasizes positivity, optimism, and resilience, it was only fitting to provide them a safe and beautiful space where they could gather together with food, horses, puppies, friends, and loving memories. We couldn’t have done it without the help from Ostel Place and End of The Line Cafe.

Bowling Night

Choose Your Story is an initiative dedicated to encouraging positive choices rather than substance use. Prevention involves more than simply refusing drugs and alcohol; we aim to equip teens with the necessary tools, facts, and inspiration to make informed decisions and cultivate a positive lifestyle. We offer monthly engaging experiences geared towards teens ages 13-19.

Candle Making

We are grateful for our new friends, Lacey and Danielle with Kara Lily Candle Co. They helped host an aroma filled, relaxing evening. To top it off, we all enjoyed a delicious taco bar graciously donated by Aja's Creations.

Hockey Night

The smiles, the laughter, the gratitude expressed 💕 We purchased 16 tickets for teens/young adults ages 15-19 to go to an Ice Flyers Game. Our group included four age 15, three age 16, two age 17, four age 18, and three age 19. For most, it was their first hockey game!
